Choline alphoscerate and related phospholipids

Alpha-GPC, also called choline alphoscerate, is a choline-containing compound used in supplements and studied in clinical settings. Choline is involved in cell membranes and in making the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. A biological role for choline does not establish that supplemental Alpha-GPC improves everyday attention or memory in a person with adequate nutrition.

Clinical evidence and everyday attention

Research includes cognitive outcomes in people with impairment and smaller studies in healthy adults. Observational safety research also deserves attention, while associations should not be interpreted as proof of causation. The dedicated article separates those populations and benefit questions from safety uncertainties.

A percentage can change the readable dose

The Advanced Memory Formula label lists 250 mg of GPC supplying 50% alpha-GPC: 125 mg of alpha-GPC, rather than 250 mg. This arithmetic identifies the disclosed ingredient amount; it does not establish equivalence to a trial or validate the blend. Lecithin and phosphatidylserine are different label entries, not amounts to add to that alpha-GPC total.
